About Katarzyna Korytowska
Katarzyna Korytowska has been a highly regarded artist since she was a young child in Pozan, Poland. She graduated with dual degrees in fine arts and interior architecture from the Academy of Fine Arts and the Poznan University of Technology. She later gained international notoriety after being named one of the top Polish artists by the Princess Trust Foundation at the University of Glasgow’s Mackintosh School of Architecture.
Katarzyna currently resides in Rochester Hills, Michigan–where she paints full time for local galleries and national exhibitions.
Artist’s Statement
I am very passionate about nature and the way this extremely powerful force has a calming effect on people.
My process begins with inspiration, but it isn’t until I put paint to canvas that it begins to truly take shape. I use a layering technique that mimics nature’s individuality, which results in paintings that have a life and personality on their own.
In my latest collection, I’ve focused on and magnified elements within nature. A meticulous attention to detail incorporates textures that give them an incredible, lace-like impression. I feel these painting fill interior spaces with striking warmth and energy. It is only natural to bring organic shapes and outdoors into our every day interiors.
